Olympians #10 in State Rankings, Face El Camino on the Road

The San Diego Mesa College softball team is currently ranked among the top 10 in the California Community College Fastpitch Coaches Association Poll.

The Olmypians have put together an impressive run through March and April, going 12–3 over that stretch. The team's only losses came against two of the state's top programs: Long Beach City College (ranked #7) and Palomar College (ranked # 2).

Offensively, Itzel Soto (Chula Vista Otay Ranch) continues to lead the way, batting .435 with 24 RBIs. She is tied for the team lead with seven home runs and has also added eight stolen bases. Alexis Serrano (El Cajon, CA  Mater Dei Catholic) has been equally impactful, driving in a team-high 30 RBIs while matching Soto with seven home runs.

In the circle, Olivia Anderson (San Diego, CA / Santa Fe Christian) has been dominant, posting a 17–4 record with one save. She carries a 3.44 ERA and has tallied an impressive 148 strikeouts this season.

Mesa will travel on Thursday, April 9, to face El Camino College before returning home for a pivotal matchup against Palomar College on Thursday, April 17. The teams have met twice already this season, with Palomar winning both contests.
