Natalie Smith has been coaching at San Diego Mesa since 2017. She has experience playing softball since a very young age.
Coach Smith started playing softball at the age of 4. She continued her softball career throughout middle and high school, playing for several travel organizations such as the Rowdies, 3rd Degree, and the Renegades. Coach Smith played varsity softball all 4 years of high school, where she was voted MVP and Team Captain her junior and senior years.
After high school, Coach Smith went on to pitch for San Diego Mesa College, pitching 141 innings her freshman year. She was featured as player of the week for Pacific Coast Athletic Conference twice. During that time, Coach Smith was also voted MVP in 2010. She was Pitcher of the Year and team captain in 2011.
After college, Coach Smith joined the United States Air Force for 4 1/2 years and currently works at JP Longball as a pitching instructor.
