San Diego Mesa women’s soccer is proud to announce that sophomore Karlyn Ironside will continue her academic and athletic career at Cal State Los Angeles.
Ironside was considered the heart of the defense having played starting center back for two seasons. As a freshman, Ironside was awarded the PCAC defensive player of the year.
Although she suffered a shoulder injury in the middle of the 2018 season, her dedication to battle back on the field propelled Mesa into the late playoff run.
“It was an absolute pleasure to coach Karly the past two seasons here at Mesa College,” states head coach Todd Curran. “Karly plays with so much passion and heart, as a coach, you always knew you were going to get her absolute best every time she stepped on the field.”
